Ok, I admit it. I've been busy over at FaceBook and Twitter. I've missed LJ though! I've been trying to get my life under control enough to be able to come and play and it seems that since I'm wide awake at 4am, that I can post something! I'll try not to do it this way too often. Even Em is laying on her bed next to the the desk sound asleep!

Let's see, what have I been up to? Well, seems I got a new 'job'. One of our old clients offered me a position with his team doing what I used to do for him awhile back. So, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I'm enjoying the heck out of it! However, my photography is suffering a bit right now. But as soon as I get into the swing, I imagine it will come back. I am working on the 2010 AZ Border Collie Rescue calendar right now.

For the calendar we ventured up to Flagstaff with 7 BC's and our 3 Golden's. Em seemed to fit right in as our BC in Golden clothes.  I have a picture of this but Photobucket won't let me paste it in here.  Anyway, the above is Em being her typical little sister self.  Fun was had by all in the snow of Flagstaff...  If I can get my images to post up here...I'll explain some more!  In the mean time, enjoy the show!

 Until you've watched American Idol with closed captioning on.

You get to see what some people interpret the lyrics to be, such as a classic like "Signs heed the limit, I'm yours."  Otherwise known as Signed, Sealed Delivered, I'm Yours, by Stevie Wonder.

When you start to watch TV, the closed captioning just takes over.  You can't stop reading it.  It's like singing along even though you've got a bad voice!  It's really hard to actually watch the tv but we have the cc so that Mimi can 'hear' what's going on.  I dare you to try it and see how much you actually watch instead of read.

Today we have GREAT news on the Mom front!  Yesterday I came in and she said "Look what I can do!"  and she proceeded to stand up from the chair!  So today she took it a STEP further, literally!  At therapy today, she stared to take some steps!!  So, she is doing very good!  I'm very proud of her and she will only get stronger!

Ok, well, I need to get some work done -

Hola,

I just wanted to share some happy pictures from the hospital. Mom is getting stronger and we are happy for that!  She has also gained a positive attitude about getting up and walking again!  

These are her flowers that I don't have to water.  They stay nicely at the end of the bed!






This is her Christmas tree that everyone has commented on!

The fact that she even LET me bring my camera and take a picture of her is HUGE.  That's one of the ways I know she is feeling better!

Well, I've been debating about posting but I feel like I'm missing in action. First off:


I'm bummed I don't have any pictures of Mom for the Christmas album, because she doesn't want hospital pics. But here's a great one of Mimi. She doesn't like it, but it's one of my favorite looks of hers:

I just had to do something - I had to try that Vienna Sausage Sandwich. And though I was grossed out by the sound of vienna sausages being mashed up - actually - it's not all bad!

I shall show you how to make your very own VS Sandwich....

First, take a hard boiled egg and grate it:


Next you add in some Mayo and Relish:


Last you take your VS and add them and mash it all together:



Now, spread:

Review:
Well, it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be.  I like Vienna Sausage, so that's a plus.  Add in the flavors of relish, egg and mayo with bread on top and you are completely distracted from the fact that you are eating mashed up vienna sausages.  So, while I didn't gag or throw up while eating it, and I didn't share any of it with the dogs, I would declare this edible.  BUT, I don't think I'll go out of my way to make it again!

So, the idea is to post something for the next 8 days that has made you happy!

Today:  I got in the truck, started it up and voila - G. L. A. M. O. R. OUS, yes - it was playing.  The stupid little Fergie song makes me quite happy!  Also, I had a piece of Chocolate Cake...and like Jack, cake makes me happy!

 Ok...Here's what I've been doing for the last month - all put into a video....  ;)

 I called my Grand mother this morning to wish her a Happy Birthday.  Apparently when you turn her age, things like going to lunch don't matter anymore.  "A hamburger would do just fine.  Oh, a Vienna Sausage sandwich would be even better!"  WAIT A MINUTE!  Now, I have to admit, I like Vienna Sausage, but a VS sandwich - EWWWWWWWWW.  She goes on to explain that you add relish, mayo and egg and then you mash up the sausages!  She had me at mash up.  I almost lost it!  She urged me to try it anyway and if I didn't like it, serve it to the dogs who would think it was a wonderful treat!

So...there you go....FOOD for thought....
