These and other great lyrics for the Friday sing along!
That gem is from These Boot Are Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra.
Right now, the oddest follow up song to Nancy is Julie Andrews singing a few of my favorite things and in case you forgot...
When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember a few of my favorite things and then I don't feel SOOOOOO bad
Here we go:
Rain drops on roses, whiskers on kittens
cream colored ponies and cream colored poodles...
Girls in white satin sashes, silver white winters that melt into spring...
I really couldn't keep up with typing, man she has alot of favorite things! I don't remember putting this song in my iTunes but apparently I did.
Now we are on to Elton John - an 80's song of his - Sacrifice. Two hearts living in 2 separate worlds.
Next time I have an interesting pair up...I'll bring you back into my Friday sing along....
Ok Paula Cole's Throwing Stones to Tangerine Dream's Twin Soul Tribe. Let's see, well, Paula Cole leads off with "You call me a bitch in heat and I call you a LIAR. We'll throw stones till we're dead." Tangerine Dream is the new age group that I used for background music in my news package when I learned how to direct news in college....
Let's see what follows Melissa Ethridge's California. While we wait and sing along, I'll tell you about the song. When I got the CD, I put it on the speakers and I was grooming a dog. In my [sarcasm] fabulous voice [/sarcasm] I began to sing along - CALLLLL A FORNIA. The dog just looked at me like I was the strangest person in the world. The next time I had Emma up on the table and sang it to her and she looked at me the same way and then wagged her tail. So, maybe she likes my singing....but more likely, she was laughing at me. So, now every time we go to an agility thing, it's become Emma and I's agility song. "In California, I am almost free. Rescue me." :) Tori Amos comes on with "I think it's perfectly clear we're in the wrong band." ROTFLMAO.
Can you guess this one? "I know you know every desperado and sharpshooter." You may have guessed the Eagles but alas, you would be wrong. Now, reconsider for a second and I'll point directly at my friend Vicki right now and say - your daughter would probably know the artist who is singing this. "Balmy day, Sweet Sangria...." 'Yeah you think about that, what you believe in. It matters not to you and me what you believe in." Ok, Ok...I'll stop typing with the song and tell you who it is.......Miss Tori Amos singing Sweet Sangria. Now followed by........iTunes choice - Nobody Does it Better by David Sanborn.....hummmm strange mix....
Ok now I hit the fast forward button 5 times and came up with (get out of your chair and dance now....) You Can Do It from the Tragic Kingdom cd of No Doubt...... OOOO oooo OOO..... :) If I were only on so you think you can dance....but then again...I can't dance....
A friend of mine received a text from me yesterday and she called me back saying....OK...that was the first stream of consciousness text message that I've ever received... That's what I've been doing in this post, I'm pretty sure. I really feel like I'm in BSG listening to the Cyclon's hybrid as it babbles out non sense and then yells JUMP!
Next Post...
